Agreement to these terms
By accessing or using ByteFrame (the website, editor, and related services at byteframe.app), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
If you use ByteFrame on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
The service
ByteFrame is a browser-based tool that helps you frame screenshots and code, annotate or redact on a canvas, and export images for social posts, docs, and marketing. Core framing runs in your browser. Features may change as we improve the product.
We may offer free and paid (Pro) capabilities. Availability of any feature is not guaranteed forever and may depend on your plan, account status, or technical limits.
Accounts
You may use parts of the editor without signing in. Creating an account (via our authentication provider) lets us associate Pro status and preferences with you. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.
Provide accurate information when you register or checkout. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Your content and exports
You retain ownership of the screenshots, code snippets, and other materials you bring into ByteFrame, and of the images you export, subject to any third-party rights in those materials.
Subject to these terms and any third-party rights, you may use exports for personal and commercial purposes, including websites, marketing, social posts, and documentation. You are responsible for having the rights to use the underlying content and for redacting confidential information before you share an export.
You grant us a limited license to process content you submit only as needed to operate features you use (for example storing a contact message you send, or billing metadata tied to your account). Canvas framing of your screenshots is designed to run locally in your browser as described in the Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use ByteFrame for unlawful activity, or to create or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, or infringing.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or extract the source code or non-public APIs of the ByteFrame application, except where applicable law forbids this restriction.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service, circumvent plan limits, or access another user's account without permission.
- Abuse support channels with spam, malware, or abusive content.
- Misrepresent exports as official endorsements by ByteFrame.
Pro subscriptions and payments
Pro features (such as advanced tilt, custom watermarks, batch export, or higher export scales, as offered from time to time) may require a paid subscription. Checkout and billing are processed by our payment provider. Prices, trial length, and included features are shown at purchase and may change for future billing periods with notice where required.
Unless required by law or stated at checkout, fees are non-refundable once a paid period begins. Trials convert to paid plans according to the terms shown when you start the trial. Cancel through the customer portal or by contacting us before renewal to avoid the next charge where applicable.
ByteFrame intellectual property
The ByteFrame name, logo, website, editor UI, code, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership of that IP to you. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the ByteFrame application itself except as expressly allowed.
Disclaimer of warranties
ByteFrame is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that exports will meet your specific marketing or legal requirements.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ByteFrame and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for Pro in the twelve months before the claim or (b) fifty U.S. dollars (USD $50), except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law.
Termination
You may stop using ByteFrame at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Provisions that by nature should survive (including IP, disclaimers, limitations, and governing law) will survive termination.
Changes to the service or terms
We may update the product and these terms. When we change the terms, we will update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be announced on the site or by email when appropriate. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to our operation of the service, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would require another jurisdiction's laws. Courts with competent jurisdiction may hear disputes arising from these terms, except where mandatory consumer protections require otherwise.
